Special opening of the forum: María Teresa Domínguez

We are pleased to announce that Ms María Teresa Domínguez, President of the Spanish Nuclear Industry Forum, will open this years forum. Her presentation will be entitled “Addressing the challenges for Spanish nuclear industry’s international collaboration”

Since 1962, the Spanish Nuclear Industry Forum has brought together Spanish companies involved in the peaceful use of nuclear power, ensuring that their interests are integrated and coordinated at the highest levels of safety and reliability in nuclear power plant operation.

The past decades of nuclear power plant operation have justified an increased attention and utilization of this power generation choice as a key feature in the future of developed and emerging countries and societies. The events, lessons to be learned, and enhancements can maintain the nuclear power option as a viable and significant contributor to carbon emission reduction globally, and a safe and economical power generation choice.

After our successful 2012 edition, we are pleased once more to have an international speaker panel including spears from Europe, United States, South Africa and The Middle East.

Localizing the Nuclear Build in South Africa
Nuclear Safety Culture
Engaging the local companies with nuclear projects in Finland
Current Status and Key Safety Drivers for UK Nuclear Supply Chain Development
Deployment of SMR: Case Study for West Kaliomantan, Indonesia

KLF710Message from Ken Ferguson – Executive Chair, GNSCE Forum.

Our forum held in February 2012 moved this attention forward and provided a venue for informing and discussing what is actually in place and being planned for implementation to address supply chain issues in a variety of locations and circumstances around the world. Information exchange occurred through formal presentations, networking, and social events as catalysts for sharing of lessons learned for those responsible for supply chain development as well as organizations wishing to become part of future supply chain involvements and using the forum to increase visibility to others. Based on the formal survey information collected at the forum in 2012, I am pleased to be working again with Martin Simpkins to plan and deliver the 2013 forum, scheduled for June 2013 in Barcelona, Spain.

The forum will continue delivery regarding feedback we received regarding seniority and quality of speakers, opportunity to exchange information, wide ranging and thorough discussions that provide the opportunity to learn from others. We plan to have diversity of speakers representing nuclear plant owners, designers, fabricators, as well as key advisors and other stakeholders in the nuclear power delivery cycle.

Part of our enthusiasm for Barcelona is maintaining the high quality of the 2012 Forum which resulted in feedback and survey comments such as :
